PROCLAIMING THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND

German-born, one of our laypeople is a tenured professor of philosophy at Assumption College in Worcester, MA. Another works at a Boston law firm, witnessing his faith in the legal realm. Several others are pursuing their doctorate or are engaged in Catholic ministries in other parts of the country.
What they all have in common is that they have spent significant time at the Assumptionist Center in Brighton, MA, whose programs are inspired by the vision of our Founder, Father Emmanuel d’Alzon. Fr. D’Alzon was committed to bringing laity and religious together in partnership and intimate collaboration in building up God’s Kingdom. The Center is among the premier US institutions for the formation of lay leadership in today’s Church.
Similar efforts reflecting the prayer chosen by the Founder as the Order’s motto—“Thy Kingdom Come”—are underway at Assumption College. Assumptionist-sponsored Bayard USA, the North American arm of one of the world’s largest Catholic publishers, helps build and strengthen the faith through a broad range of family-oriented, devotional and catechetical publications.
To keep up with news and information about all the activities of the Assumptionist family—which has roots in more than 30 countries—be sure to frequently visit our website: www.assumption.us and sign up for our quarterly newsletter. That way you can share in our joy as Assumptionist Fathers, Brothers and lay partners around the world are preparing the way for the coming of God’s Kingdom.
We are grateful that many of you have accepted the invitation to contribute to “Partners for God’s Kingdom.” Your friendship and support are indispensable—we could not fulfill our mission without you. Your sacrifices and generosity enable the North American Province of the Assumptionists to promote and cultivate vocations; to give our student brothers a stellar formation, as well as provide for their housing and material needs; and to ensure that elderly members of the community—who have devoted their entire lives to the Church—are cared for.
I thank those of you who joined us for your generous support. At the same time, it is my privilege, on behalf of our extended Assumptionist family, to humbly ask all of you to become our partners in promoting “education in all of its forms”—as our Founder envisioned—and in announcing to our troubled world the Good News of God’s Kingdom.
It was the genius of our Fr. d’Alzon to realize that the task of "our little family”—as he called the first community of Assumptionists—is so momentous that it calls for an alliance of lay and religious working shoulder-to-shoulder for a common cause. By joining the “Partners for God’s Kingdom Fund,” you can take part in this glorious enterprise of fulfilling the Church’s mission. As a regular contributor to the Fund you will be a certain force for good: you will help make sure that the Assumptionist family continues to form leaders who can effectively bear witness to God’s love for the world.
Thank you. May God bless you,
Fr Dennis Gallagher, AA Assumptionist Regional Superior for the United States
