As our formation documents
explain, "Committing oneself to Assumptionist religious life calls for a
certain number of basic qualities in order to be able to deal with the
exigencies of apostolic religious life:
+ a sufficiently balanced
character
+ an aptitude for life in
common
+ those human virtues
emphasized by Fr. d'Alzon - uprightness, frankness, human warmth,
simplicity, initiative, boldness, generosity and disinterestedness.
In addition to these
qualities, we look for young men who love the Church, engage in a life of
prayer, can exercise responsibility for their lives, are capable of a lasting
commitment, whose decisions are consistent and free, and who are healthy in
body, mind, and spirit.
Interested individuals will normally have
completed college before they are accepted into the candidacy program and will
be no older than 42 years of age.
